Album Mystery Girl

Info about song

"She's a Mystery to Me" is the sixth track and the lead single from Roy Orbison's 1989 album, Mystery Girl.[1] The track was originally written for Orbison by Bono and The Edge of U2. The album Mystery Girl received its name from the song. The song was received very positively by music critics, who generally felt the song was the highlight of the album. Composition In the documentary In Dreams: The Roy Orbison Story, Bono tells how he woke up for a concert's sound check, following a late night listening to the soundtrack to David Lynch's Blue Velvet, and had the tune in his head, figuring it was another Orbison song ("In Dreams" was the only Orbison song on that album). During the sound check he performed it for the other members of U2, who agreed that the track sounded like an Orbison song.[2] A short while later, Orbison met the band backstage at one of their concerts and subsequently asked Bono if he would like to write a song with/for him. Orbison invited Bono to contribute guitar and produce on the track. The album Mystery Girl was named after the song. Music video The video for the song was directed by David Fincher and it aired first in April 1989. Read more on Last.fm.
