Hello all: This song is off her 1960 or so "black" album, and it is an original folk song from the Appalachians I am sure. It can put chills up a listeners spine. When Baez sings of Old Blue dying so hard he shook the ground in her backyard, one's hair can stand on end, as it may do at the end when she calls out his name at each link of chain that she is lowering him down with into his grave.
