Each song a story and each story a song. One of Brisbane’s best kept secrets Timothy Carroll has been gathering a strong and loyal following of music lovers across Australia with his crafted lyrical songwriting, engaging performances and a live show that sways from intimate folk stories to clarinet and cello soaked blues symphonies.
With a band of talented old world musicians behind him featuring artists from The Doch gypsy orchestra and Kafka, Carroll’s compositions swing naturally across the genres of folk, soul, country and gospel. In 2008 he established his place in Brisbane’s live music scene with a local residency which saw crowds packing the venue with many left peering in the windows to catch Carroll's traditional and captivating blend of folk.
Between then and now, he has found the time to support iconic Australian acts such as Darren Hanlon, Ben Salter and Texas Tea as well as completing work on his debut forthcoming album - For Bread & Circuses. Produced by Jamie Trevaskis (Texas Tea, Nathan Hollywood, Tom Cooney) at Junkship Studios, the album is a masterpiece in songwriting that will finally expose Carroll as one of the country’s finest talents.
Due for release later in the year, For Bread & Circuses Features a vast array of guests that includes Corrina Scanlon, Kate Jacobson (Texas Tea), Bec Craner and Will Eager (Doch Gypsy Orchestra) and Oscar Dawson (Dukes of Windsor and Andy Donald (Kafka).
Having recently shared his live show with Melbourne audiences, the coming months will see Carroll return to Brisbane for A performance at the powerhouse before the release of his album in July this year.
