Aaron Ettlin (guitar), James Puryear (bass), Matthew Hernandez (drums) and Sara Hernandez (vocals) combine to form one of the most unique indie bands to hit the Portland music scene in recent years. Dance-punk beats meet infectious pop melodies to create songs that both bounce and swagger.
In 2008, the band worked with engineer Skyler Norwood (Blind Pilot, Horse Feathers) at Miracle Lake Studios for their debut album and returned in 2010 for their sophomore effort with honed songwriting skills and a completely refined sound. The band yielded thirteen original tracks on its self-titled release and reviews have garnered comparisons to Corin Tucker (Sleater-Kinney, The Corin Tucker Band), Alison Mosshart (Discount, The Kills, The Dead Weather), Daft Punk and Gossip. Its lead-off single "bodyblood" was pre-released on the PDX Pop Now! 2010 compilation and has already been added to radio station playlists across the country from Portland and San Diego to Chicago and Norfolk.
The group released their new album - playing it in its entirety from beginning to end - to a sold out crowd at the Doug Fir in Portland, Oregon on August 14, 2010. Having just returned from a 2 week California tour, they are working on new songs and gearing up for a multi-state tour in April 2011. Read more on Last.fm.
