The band was formed in the 1960's and has performed across the UK at festivals, concerts and on radio and television. The band's songs are mainly concerned with Teesside and North Yorkshire, telling the story of the development of the north east region and the countryside that surrounds it, often with witty lyrics.
Stewart McFarlane is lead singer and is also known for his work with the BBC. The rest of the band comprises: Alan Helm (Accordion, Guitar and Electric Bass), Stan Gee (Banjo, Fiddle & Guitar) and Paul Ruane (Fiddle).
