Solatrus, which loosely means “Sun of Darkness” in Latin, is Jeremy "Solatrus" Iamurri, a 22 year old Computer Engineering major attending Michigan State University from Saginaw, Michigan, USA, who composes and produces music in his spare time. Music has been a part of his life since 1993, when he received a Yamaha PSR-230, which is still functioning to this day, as a Christmas present. To give a bit of an insight, two years after getting the PSR-230, Primus’ melody was written. It wasn’t until 2003, however, and after being introduced to a DAW (digital audio workstation) called Fruityloops 3.56, that the first iteration of Primus was completed. That song has been remixed and remade multiple times since then.
In the summer of 2006, he began compiling and rewriting songs from the first 3 years of his composing. This continued until mid 2007, and eventually formed the album Somnium, along with the Primus Collection.
And it was during that span of a year, 2006 to 2007, that Solatrus finally came to be.
Since then, another album was finished (Dawn to Dusk), an EP released (Endless), and a music team (Homestuck) was joined for a popular webcomic.
