Pirum is a student male choir from the Student Union in Trondheim, Norway. Pirum was established in 1965 and has ever since been a subgroup of Trondhjems Studentersangforening.
The choir has twenty members and one(!) conductor. Their repertoir consists mostly of well known melodies (both Norwegian and foreign) from many different genres. Comedian Harmonists may be Pirum’s most important source to musical material. Pirum usually make their own arrangements of these songs and write new lyrics to them. Some of these are considered funny. On stage Pirum tends to be nothing like a traditional male choir. Their strange costumes (student cap, morning coat, knickerbockers and old boots, plus their own "Pirum" t-shirts and a silly homemade bow tie) and their appearance onstage make them charming, hilarious and popular entertainment in the town of Trondheim.
