– Mean And Nasty
Mean And Nasty's music is Sound Warfare. A melting pot of all sounds good and pure, turned viciously wicked and unforgiving by the trials of life itself. He means well, and it always looks and sounds good; but still, maybe there is something a little weird, quirky and twisted here. You be the judge.
Around 2005 ,Mean, along with childhood friend Stone The Butcha (David Simpkins) and his cousin Booney Bambino (Chris White) all lived in the same house on 92nd Street and St. Clair Ave., a neighborhood where Mean's father was once a store owner. It was there that the trio, along with help from Diva Sky Luv (Donisha Hyche) began work on an album that was to be called Behind The Music. Mean, Stone and Booney began to perform regularly at local showcases including Cleveland's famous Spit Boxing hip hop night.
In January 2009, Mean came to Los Angeles by the request of his father, who was terminally ill. Later that spring after his fathers passing, Mean was faced with the decision of going back to Cleveland and everything familiar, or staying in Los Angeles and following his lifelong dreams of being a professional recording artist and music producer. He chose the latter and after some period of personal turmoil and financial hardship, Mean began his professional career in late 2011 with the release of his self-distributed and much delayed debut album entitled The Ghetto Soundtrack, which has slowly become a cult favorite thanks to songs like "All The Girls Love Me" and "Go Shorty". In April 2012, Mean, through his imprint GSC Records, released "Bring The Noise" the debut album from Inglewood, CA born hip hop artist Ale-Jhay, and also directed many of the album track's music videos. Another album release followed shortly in mid July with "Mean And Nasty presents: The Taste Of Revenge", a compilation featuring many of the artists on the GSC Records roster. Read more on Last.fm.
