Math & Physics club are an indie pop outfit from Seattle. Their first, self-titled album was released on October 16th, 2006. It sounds exactly like you'd expect a fall record to - sweet and nostalgic and a bit sad, all under the guise of Belle & Sebastian-esque pop songs. James (guitar) and Charles (vocals) were the first two members of the band, but only played together informally, in garages and the like. Math & Physics club are an indie pop outfit from Seattle. Their first, self-titled album was released on October 16th, 2006. It sounds exactly like you'd expect a fall record to - sweet and nostalgic and a bit sad, all under the guise of Belle & Sebastian-esque pop songs.

James (guitar) and Charles (vocals) were the first two members of the band, but only played together informally, in garages and the like.

When they met Kevin (drums) in the summer of 2004, they began to solidify as a band. After adding Saundrah (violin) and Ethan (bass) that fall, they recorded a demo which they sent to their favorite record labels. Matinée Records, home of indie pop favorites the Lucksmiths, decided to sign them.

After exposure on Seattle station KEXP and internet radio stalwart WOXY, as well as glowing reviews from the indie press and blogosphere, Math & Physics Club have grown from being a small pop band into an under-the-radar indie darling.
