Israel & New Breed is a Christian worship group mostly known for a cross-cultural style of worship music that fuses elements from Gospel music, Jazz and Rock. The album Alive in South Africa, recorded live in Cape Town, received a Grammy Award for "Best Traditional Gospel Album" in 2007 and a song from the album, "Not Forgotten", received a Dove Award for "Contemporary Gospel Recorded Song" in 2006. Israel & New Breed is a Christian worship group mostly known for a cross-cultural style of worship music that fuses elements from Gospel music, Jazz and Rock. Israel Houghton formed his global supergroup in 1997, but also performs solo albums and has served as worship leader for the Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas.
