Born in 1966, São Paulo State, he's a self-taught guitar player and composer who developed an unique style for "hammering" the strings with both hands on the guitar's scale. After years improving his own technique, he started creating harmonics, chords and melodic lines with that "percussive" approach.
In 1997 Agni released his first album "Kronos" attempting to synthesize his peculiar musical evolution and was already acclaimed by the critic.
In 2000 his second album "Um outro silêncio" (Another silence) came about recorded with great participations, such as Marlui Miranda, Flávio Venturini, Benjamin Taubkin and Teco Cardoso; bringing influences of contemplative European jazz.
In 2002 Agni released another CD named "Oriki" exploring Brazilian rhythmical diversity with Renato Brás and André Geraissati participations.
In 2007 released "Presságios" that has a strong minimalist concept. It counted with participations such as Monica Salmaso and Adriana Mezzadri.
Recently he has released his last album, titled Layers of Now. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
