The present lineup of Counterfist has been more than six years in the making. Drummer, Adam Clark and singer, George Grissom, sprouted their musical tendrils at a very young age in Yakima, Washington, their dubiously beloved hometown. After several years of “learning experiences” in Yakima, both independently moved to Seattle, Washington. Shortly thereafter, George joined a project called Jupiter Tree, soon to become Counterfist, involving Adam and guitarist Tony Peterson. Tony, hailing from Bothell, Washington, boasts musical experience and education equally as deep as the drummer and vocalist. Changes in the lineup over the years led to acquiring 13 year musician and current bassist, Rodney Michael Moore from Federal Way, Washington, and have since become permanent.
The music the quartet creates is not as easy to describe as the members. Every note strummed and sung creates a beauty that is only rivaled by the dark overtones that strangle it.
