Assassins of Sound are a three piece band from the South West of England. Incorporating heavily processed guitar based soundscapes with short sharp busts of noise and melodic, bluesy melancholia. Assassins of Sound produce a unique feeling bringing together influences from artists such as PJ Harvey and Mars Volta through to jazz, metal and a host of electronic genres. Their attitude to work results in songs with diverse, eclectic sounds, usually with no connection to the song’s original concept. Apart from the three core members, the new album was recorded with around 20 musicians bringing in complex vocal harmonies, wind, odd keyboards and strings as well as sounds of instruments like a musical tree and a plastic flexi trumpet that may exist in only one example owned and built by the musician.
