Album The 1975
Info about song
The third (and first entirely new) song to be shared in the lead-up to the release of The 1975’s debut self-titled album, “M.O.N.E.Y.” premiered on Prefix on the 29th August 2013. In a review on Gigwise, the track was described as sounding “like Prince in space.” Musically, the song draws from the band’s signature pop-rock sound, with “glitchy R&B” influences. Some have speculated that the song is a semi-autobiographical description of lead singer Matty, who had problems with cocaine in his youth. In an interview with The Guardian, he stated that in his lyrics, “I’m always talking about me, really." Travi$ Scott sampled this track in his 2014 song “Don’t Play.” Read more on Last.fm.
