The Screamin' Sirens were an all-women cowpunk band from Hollywood, California. They featured Rosie Flores, Pleasant Gehman, and Miiko Watanabe. Other members included Diane "Boom-Boom" Dixon, Fur Dixon, Laura Bandit and Casey Gomez. They were pretty notorious on the Hollywood scene for hard-partying and always putting on a rowdy show. The Sirens also appeared in a film called The Runnin' Kind in which they starred alongside Brie Howard, of Fanny. Howard also played with the band live after the movie was shot.
After they broke up, Casey Gomez went on to become the original drummer for Paisley Underground turned Sunset Strip rockers the Pandoras. She appears on their debut EP, I'm Here, I'm Gone, as well as their first album, It's About Time. Miiko Watanabe and Brie Howard went on to join American Girls, with actress Hilary Shepard; the band was originally intended as a film project, but the movie was scrapped and the band eventually grew into it's own entity. They were signed to IRS, but compared constantly to label mates, the Go-Go's. Pleasant Gehman went on to write articles for L.A. Weekly and Spin as well as several books, and belly dance under the name "Princess Farhana". She also has a documentary about her, titled Underbelly. Rosie Flores has gone on to be a successful rockabilly singer, with 10 albums under her belt. She has toured with Wanda Jackson, has appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and in Austin, Texas, August 31 is Rosie Flores Day.
