Kate worked as an English and French teacher, shop assistant, children's party fairy, author and illustrator. She has always enjoyed writing, receiving first class honours from The University of Sydney in French, and was inspired to write her own songs after seeing Australian Folk band The Waifs perform live. Kate started performing in France before returning to Australia in 2001 and continuing her singing career. Her first album was released in 2007 and won an award for Outstanding Contribution to Country Music. Kate's "Space Rabbits of Brocklevoons" won an award in the 2009 John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Kate appeals to all ages as an interesting, humorous lyricist and talented folk guitarist.
