Hora Local is a post-punk band from Bogota, Colombia which started in 1986 and ceased to exist in early 90's.
The band members were Luis Uriza (voice), Ricardo Jaramillo (guitar, voice), Fernando Muñoz (guitar), Andrés Rojas (keyboards), Gonzalo de Sagarmínaga (drums) and Eduardo Arias (bass and voice).
They never gained any commercial success, except for being popular on the radio for a short period. Nevertheless, they gained significant cult following and today are considered as one of the most influential Colombian bands.
They were influenced by Spanish underground rock scene, most notably in the sort of humour they used in their lyrics.
They split in 1991, but in 2007 their recordings (the 45rpm single [1988] and album Orden Público Alterado [1991]) were remastered and released with two previously unreleased tracks and a tribute bonus disc as Soluciones para todo menos para los problemas.
Many Colombian bands, which existed or exist even today, gave their tribute to Hora Local. Among them are Los Telebolitos, Pornomotora, Odio a Botero, Yuri Gagarín y los Correcaminos and Aterciopelados. Read more on Last.fm.
